Towneley 120 > Opening

The park was opened 28th June 1902 and the weather was kind. The ceremony was attended by civic dignitaries and marked by planting trees. In 2022, 120 trees are to be planted by children in the park.

Back of a postcard bearing the words: Lady O'Hagan has just given this to Burnley - it was her home.

The message on the postcard was not correct. The park (and Hall) were not given to the people of Burnley but they were sold.
