Rev T Williams

Before the war Thomas was involved in social reform with, among other concerns, a social experiment at Butterworth & Dickinson’s foundry to encourage workers to think and talk about mutual improvement. He was one the few curates from Burnley to join up and served in the Machine Gun Corps as an education officer.

His army papers said “during the few days he has been here he has done very good work in organising the classes and teachers. He is very well up in many subjects including industrial history, political economy and English literature.”
