Percy was killed in action in 1918.

His Portland stone headstone, tended by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), bears an inscription on the base which was requested by the family. The CWGC tend all the war cemeteries and memorials including those from the Great War. The names on headstones and memorials make no distinction of privilege or social class.
