Both men emigrated to Canada, and both were killed in action.
Frank served with the British and Charlie with the Canadians.

Charlie’s brother- in-law, was also a Canadian casualty.
All three had been educated at St Peter’s School, Burnley. Many others who had been born in Burnley joined the forces from their adopted countries including Australia, the USA and New Zealand.
