Edward ‘Teddy’ Hodgson was a key member of Burnley Football Club when they won the English Cup in 1914.

He joined the Army in 1916 and was to serve the rest of the war with distinction.
He was in the army of occupation in Germany in 1919 but developed a kidney infection. He returned home but was to die of the infection in Whalley military hospital. Teddy is buried in Burnley Cemetery.
