Burnley Youth Theatre celebrated the millennium with its biggest-ever production Spirit which was set in Thompson Park with 250 young people participating. In 2002 the Youth Theatre hosted 3 artists from Singapore for project KAWAN.

The 2000’s were a decade of growth and development for Burnley Youth Theatre. Funding was awarded in 2001 and 2002 which enabled work to start constructing the new purpose built facilities in 2004. Also in 2004 the last play Indian Summer was performed in the Quarry Theatre.

In 2005 the new building was opened and launched with a programme called Detonate. Prince Charles visited in February 2008. 2008 was also the year that Lancashire Constabulary commissioned Not In My Name which went on to tour the North West and gained accolades for its bold themes of extremism and radicalisation.
