Unlock the Power of Real World Learning: An Event for Home Educating Families

Spend a morning at Towneley Hall and discover how this historic house can bring English, Maths and Science to life through hands on, interest led learning.

Using Towneley as a case study, you will pick up practical approaches that can be adapted for any heritage site you choose to visit

Enjoy time to wander, discuss and explore at your own pace, with plenty of opportunities to meet other home educating families and share ideas. Adults can relax with hot drinks, while children enjoy engaging activities and soft drinks – creating a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

Every attendee will receive a tailored handbook packed with practical ideas, ready to use activities and adaptable frameworks you can build into your learning at home. It’s organised into clear, easy to navigate sections:

• On site learning: Activities, prompts and discussion starters to help you make the most of your visit, whatever your child’s interests.
• ‘Inspired by Towneley’ activities: Simple, flexible tasks to use before or after your visit, designed to deepen understanding back at home.
• Sensory exploration: Guidance on spotting textures, spaces and moments that support sensory seekers and help all learners connect confidently with heritage environments.

Come along and discover how Towneley Hall can enrich your learning journey and spark new ideas for every historic place you explore.

£20 per adult attendee, up to three children per adult welcome. To book your place, visit Home Educator Inspiration Day at Towneley.
