Come and join us at Towneley Hall for a screening of the 1961 British film Whistle Down the Wind filmed at local locations across Pennine Lancashire, and also at our very own café here at Towneley! As well as enjoying this classic film, you will have the pleasure of being joined by original cast members including at least one of the main characters at each showing! Experience the timeless tale of innocence and faith in this heartwarming production following the captivating journey of children who discover a mysterious stranger hiding in their barn. Don’t miss this enchanting film that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you with a renewed sense of wonder.

The film will be shown in Towneley Hall Lecture Theatre.

Reserved Seating

Seating will not be reserved. We have a limited number of wheelchair and accessibility tickets. These tickets must be booked by calling Towneley Hall reception, where a free essential companion ticket will be issued – these are limited for each performance so early booking is essential. Please note that if a member of your party arrives in a wheelchair and hasn’t booked a wheelchair accessible space, we may not be able to accommodate you.

A reduced entry fee of £2.75 per adult is in place due to conservation building works taking place at Towneley Hall.

All areas of the Hall will be open to the public with the exception of the Regency Rooms, Medieval Long Gallery and Great Hall. Visitors will still be able to see the Victorian Kitchen and the stunning Art Gallery. The eclectic collections including an Egyptian Mummy, the Whalley Abbey Vestments, Lancashire-oak made furniture, Pilkington’s Pottery and the Towneley Bear are also still fully accessible.
