Dive into a world of creativity at our fin-tastic creative workshop! The drop in session is aimed at children aged 5-12yrs to encourage creativity using vibrant collage materials to craft an underwater artwork.
The is part of the project ‘Trout at Towneley’, a partnership between Ribble Rivers Trust and Towneley Hall. We have been able to welcome a tank of baby trout to the prime position of our shop. Visitors to the Hall will see the baby trout (know as fry) grow into adult fish. Once the fish are large enough, they will be released into local rivers to help grow the population of native fish in the area!
Join us for a splash of artistic fun during the half term holidays!
Also, meet Neil from Ribble Rivers Trust People to hear all about the usually hidden, under water, world of your local river. See native Brown Trout as they start their journey to adulthood. Join us in a mini beast hunt as we discover what other creatures live in the river and what the Trout will be eating.
A reduced entry fee of £2.75 per adult is in place due to conservation building works taking place at Towneley Hall.
All areas of the Hall will be open to the public with the exception of the Regency Rooms, Medieval Long Gallery and Great Hall. Visitors will still be able to see the Victorian Kitchen and the stunning Art Gallery. The eclectic collections including an Egyptian Mummy, the Whalley Abbey Vestments, Lancashire-oak made furniture, Pilkington’s Pottery and the Towneley Bear are also still fully accessible.
