Golf Course

Managed by Burnley Leisure, Towneley is a municipal golf course set in mature parkland on the southern edge of Burnley.

Established in 1932, the beautifully manicured golf course boasts picturesque views of the surrounding area at every juncture. The 9-hole, 18-hole and pitch and put courses are designed to challenge all skill levels.

Over the past few years the parks team has improved the course to make it a more challenging test of golf.

Certain holes on the front nine have been re-numbered to speed up play.

The 3rd now incorporates a pond and more recently the 2nd has seen a pond introduced in front of its tee bed, which improves the drainage but not the loss of golf balls.

As a result of this and other changes the course is now in very good condition throughout the year.
