Old Stables Cafe
Historically, and as the name suggests,the Old Stables was utilised as one of the two horse stables that served the Towneley family. Although little evidence exists to pinpoint the exact date of construction, historians believe that the building was erected sometime in the 16th Century.
In 1904, the park and surrounding estates were opened to the public for the very first time. It was some time after this that the building was converted into a small cafe serving the visitors of the park and tourists of Towneley Hall.
Situated within the landscaped grounds of Towneley Park, the cafe newly refurbished café oozes with charm and character and is open seven days a week throughout the year.
From freshly brewed coffee and real Belgian hot chocolates to delicious crepes and tantalising treats, the cafe really does make a walk through the park an experience to look forward to. Pop in and try their home-made chocolates with your hot drink.
