Thomas Wardley (1892-1915)

Thomas volunteered for active service at the start of the war. He embarked for France in November 1914. Thomas was killed – shot by a sniper – in February 1915. His grave was lost but his grandson, Alan, was determined to find it. Alan now believes he is buried in one of the three graves “known unto God” in Euston Post Cemetery, France. He writes, “the items he left me were his wife Isabella and his son, John, my father and his love. What more could he leave?”
